Plain Bearing

A plain bearing is used in pumps and other machines to support moving parts, such as shafts, and allow them to rotate.

Plain bearings are used to support the drive shaft and enable low-friction movements. In contrast to rolling bearings, which are based on rolling elements, a plain bearing consists of two surfaces that slide against each other. A special lubricant ensures minimal friction and wear between the bearing surfaces. Due to their robustness and ability to support high loads, plain bearings are used in applications where precise guidance and durability are crucial. The choice of material and the plain bearing design are critical to ensure high resistance to wear and corrosion, especially in demanding environments. Plain bearings thus contribute to the efficient and trouble-free operation of pumps and are essential in designing durable and reliable systems.
