Bypass
A bypass is an alternative flow path within a pump system, diverting the pumped medium from the main flow or back. It is used to avoid pressure peaks, regulate the volume flow, or create a workaround for maintenance or cleaning.
In many applications, the bypass acts as a protective mechanism to avoid overpressures and prevent damage to the pump. Depending on the requirements, the bypass can be controlled manually or automatically via valves. Particularly in systems with sensitive or viscous media, it enables gentle pumping and optimal adaptation to changing operating conditions.
