Diaphragm Pump

The diaphragm pump is a suction pump used to convey liquids or gases. This type of pump is mainly characterised by its high resistance to long-term stress and impurities in the transported medium. Its mode of operation is based on modifying the principle of a piston pump

However, a diaphragm separates the medium to be transported from the drive. This concept is similar to how the human heart works, whereby contracting muscles are used instead of a mechanically moved diaphragm. The essential advantage of this pump technology is that the separating diaphragm protects the drive from harmful effects of the pumped medium, such as sludge or impurities in industries such as pharmaceuticals or food. This eliminates one of the main problems of conventional piston pumps - the difficulty of effectively sealing the piston.
