Pumped Material

Pumped material refers to the medium or substance that the pump moves or conveys. The pumped material can be very different depending on the application and industry. These include liquids, gases, solids or even powders.

Pumps move liquids such as water, oil, chemicals or other fluids in most applications. Pumps are also sometimes used to convey gases such as air or various process gases. In industrial processes, however, pumps sometimes have to move media containing solids such as sludge, slurry or wastewater with solids. But powdery materials can also be conveyed. This is often the case in the food and pharmaceutical industries, for example, producing food or medicines. The type of material being pumped influences the selection of the right pump technology and configuration. Different pump types are more suitable for other pumped materials, and it is essential to consider the specific requirements and properties of the pumped material to ensure efficient pumping.
