What are your responsibilities as Global Productline Manager PERIPRO®?

As Global Productline Manager for PERIPRO®, my core responsibility is to ensure our product portfolio is both technically competitive and commercially attractive across all markets. This includes defining the right product range, positioning it at competitive price levels and continuously aligning it with market and customer requirements. Another key aspect of my role is knowledge transfer. Together with our strong team, I focus on providing the sales organisation with the necessary expertise, tools and documentation. NETZSCH has already demonstrated outstanding success and market leadership with progressing cavity pumps. My objective is to build on this experience and ensure we achieve the same level of success with the PERIPRO®. Ultimately, my role is about enabling success by combining the right products, knowledge, and support to empower our teams worldwide.

How do customers benefit from the different product lines?

Customers benefit from our broad portfolio of positive displacement pump technologies, ensuring they always receive the best possible solution for their specific application. Instead of relying on a single technology, we can select the most suitable pump based on the process requirements. This technology-neutral approach ensures the highest performance, efficiency and reliability. With our wide range of products, we can match each application with the optimal solution.

Peristaltic Pump Technology and Its Advantages

PERIPRO® peristaltic pumps are particularly suitable in a wide range of applications for aggressive and abrasive media.

What is the technology behind the PERIPRO® peristaltic pumps?

The technology behind PERIPRO® peristaltic pumps is based on the principle of peristalsis. This is the process by which our bodies move fluids through the sequential contraction and relaxation of smooth muscles, creating a wave that propels food, fluids, and other materials along the digestive pathway. PERIPRO® peristaltic pumps apply the same principle in an engineered form. The fluid is conveyed through a hose gently compressed by rotating rollers. Once the compression point passes, the hose immediately returns to its original shape, maintaining a continuous, controlled flow. By replicating this natural process, PERIPRO® pumps enable reliable, low-shear and precise fluid handling, even for demanding applications.

What distinguishes the technology of the PERIPRO® peristaltic pumps from that of other types?

Peristaltic pumps are an ideal addition to the existing NETZSCH product portfolio. Based on the simple yet highly effective operating principle, they enable reliable solutions in applications where other pump technologies reach their limits. The main features are:

  • PERIPRO® pumps are seal-less, making them suitable for applications where mechanical seals are an issue.
  • The pumps can run and prime dry, so PERIPRO® easily handles high suction applications.
  • They can easily handle corrosive products.
  • Extremely abrasive media do not wear the moving parts, so the more abrasive the media, the better the PERIPRO® performs compared to other technologies.

What are the areas of application for PERIPRO® peristaltic pumps?

PERIPRO® peristaltic pumps are used across a wide range of industries where reliable, low-maintenance and robust pumping solutions are required. Typical areas of application include water and wastewater treatment, mining, ceramics and construction, as well as the food and beverage and cosmetics industries. In addition, PERIPRO® pumps are widely applied in chemical processing, battery production and the pulp and paper industry, where they handle demanding media safely and efficiently. Thanks to their versatility and ability to handle abrasive, corrosive, and shear-sensitive products, PERIPRO® peristaltic pumps deliver dependable performance across all these sectors.

What makes NETZSCH unique in the field of PERIPRO® peristaltic pumps?

PERIPRO® is a unique solution. We are not offering a “me too” product. The main advantage over the competition is that we provide heavy-duty peristaltic pumps with large rollers. This design approach delivers significant benefits for customers, particularly in terms of total cost of ownership. The large-roller concept enables lower energy consumption, with savings of up to 30 percent compared to typical peristaltic shoe pumps. At the same time, the required lubricant quantity can be reduced by up to 90 percent, lowering operating costs and significantly reducing waste generation, making PERIPRO® a far more sustainable solution. In addition, the precisely controlled hose compression and lower operating speeds extend hose service life while delivering the required capacity. This results in reduced maintenance intervals and improved operational reliability. Hose replacement itself is also designed to be efficient and straightforward, offering a clear advantage over the more complex procedures commonly associated with peristaltic shoe pumps. Together, these factors underline what makes NETZSCH and PERIPRO® unique.

As a global specialist in handling complex media, NETZSCH offers not only peristaltic pumps but also multi screw pumps, progressing cavity pumps, rotary lobe pumps, grinding, as well as dosing and emptying systems. Whether environment & energy, chemical, pulp & paper, food & pharmaceutical, mining, oil & gas upstream, mid- / downstream or battery: At NETZSCH, we develop the right pump solution for your individual requirements.
