Positive Displacement Pump

A positive displacement pump is a type of pump that moves and compresses liquids or gases using moving mechanical parts.

The main difference from other types of pumps is that positive displacement pumps displace the fluid being pumped by physical contact rather than by the application of velocity. There are several types of positive displacement pumps, including peristaltic pumps, progressive cavity pumps, screw pumps and rotary lobe pumps.
