Reversible Pumping

Reversible pumping refers to a pump's ability to transport the pumped medium in both directions without affecting performance or efficiency. This allows for flexible adaptation to various process requirements, such as emptying conductors or reversing the flow direction in closed systems.

Progressing cavity pumps, rotary lobe pumps, and peristaltic pumps are particularly well suited for reversible pumping, as their design allows for easy direction reversal. This feature is advantageous in industries such as food, chemical, or environmental engineering, where precise dosing and controlled pumping in both directions are required.
