Girls’Day at NETZSCH: Diversity as Driver for Innovation

During Girls’Day 2026, 14 participants tried their hand at various apprenticeships and gained fascinating insights into IT, development, manufacturing, and assembly.

“Girls’Day offers the opportunity to spark an interest in technical careers at an early stage and to highlight new prospects. Through hands-on experiences, schoolgirls can discover their own abilities and develop a realistic picture of what technical work involves”, explains Christina Stanka, HR Specialist Learning. The aim is to bring technical careers to life and to create pathways going beyond traditional role models. The day began with a welcome and reception on the NETZSCH Campus in Waldkraiburg. The participants gained first impressions during the subsequent company presentation given by second-year apprentices. Following a short safety briefing, the event continued with a factory tour of the engineering firm’s various departments. Afterwards, the students were given the opportunity to try their hand at work in the selected departments and demonstrate their talent.

During the practical part of Girls’Day, the participants immersed themselves directly in the world of technical careers. They got a first taste of apprenticeships (m/f/d) as IT specialists, technical product designers and industrial mechanics. Under the guidance of trainees and with the support of trainers, they learnt about IT processes, tried their hand at design and creating technical drawings and assembled small mechanical units. The schoolgirls thus gained an idea of what they could expect from a potential apprenticeship at NETZSCH.

At the end of the day, all participants and supervisors met for lunch together at Café & Restaurant FELIX. In a relaxed atmosphere, they reflected on the day’s experiences and answered questions. Girls’Day is part of an ongoing commitment to greater diversity in technical professions. Together, we promote a working environment where diverse skills and perspectives are utilised effectively.
