Joint Types of NEMO® Progressing Cavity Pumps

Select the right joint design for each individual application

The correct joint design has a decisive influence on the operational reliability and life-cycle costs of a NEMO® progressing cavity pump.

The selection of the appropriate joint depends on the various applications, operating conditions and conveyed media as well as the corresponding pump series. Get an overview of the types of joints offered by NETZSCH:

NEMO® B Universal Pin Joint, NETZSCH Pumps, Systems

NEMO® B Universal Pin Joint

The NEMO® Universal Pin Joint is the standard joint for NEMO® industrial pumps because of its simple design and outstanding reliability. This joint achieves a very long service life as a result of its sturdy dimensions in combination with the fact that it is oil-filled and sealed with a NEMO® SM® seal. At extremely high temperatures and for products for which elastomers are not suitable, the NEMO® Pin Joint can also be used without a seal. The NEMO® Pin Joint is comprised of a small number of components and can therefore be easily dismantled for maintenance.

NEMO® V Pin Joint

The operational characteristics of the NEMO® V Pin Joint are similar to those of the B Pin Joint. The only difference lies in the hardened bushings, which are fitted into the boreholes of the coupling rod and the Rotorrotor,Rotors,rotorsrotor/drive shaft head. These can be easily removed for maintenance work. This joint is also oil-filled and encapsulated with a NEMO® SM® seal in order to achieve a long service life. The NEMO® V Pin Joint consists of a small number of components and can therefore be easily dismantled for maintenance.

NEMO® H Hygienic Pin Joint, NETZSCH Pumps, Systems

NEMO® H Hygienic Pin Joint

This open, patented pin joint was specially developed for use in hygienic pumps. It is free of crevices and dead space, and is polished so it can be cleaned easily. The joint consists of a small number of components and can therefore be easily dismantled for maintenance. The NEMO® H Hygienic Pin Joint satisfies the requirements of the 3-A Sanitary Standards of the USA.

F NEMO® Flextec Flexible Rod

This patented flexible rod made of special steel is highly corrosion-resistant as well as wear- and maintenance-free, because no components move against each other as in other joint types. Neither lubricants nor seals are needed, which enables the F NEMO® Flextec Flexible Rod to be used under the highest of ambient pressures and temperatures. Since it is free of crevices and dead space, this flexible rod is also used in conveying highly sensitive products and can be employed under aseptic conditions as well. The F NEMO® Flextec Flexible Rod satisfies the requirements of the 3-A Sanitary Standards of the USA.

NEMO® K Joint, NETZSCH Pumps, Systems

NEMO® K Joint

The patented NEMO® K Joint was designed for extremely high long-term stress in industrial applications. It is particularly well-suited for applications requiring many start-ups of the pump over a short period of time. The NEMO® K Joint is kinematically and precisely defined in such a way that the torque and axial loads are decoupled and borne by its various mechanical elements. In addition, this joint is lubricated and sealed hermetically by means of two seals which are resistant to the lubricant and the pumped product. The double sealing ensures process stability, and filling the space between the two seals with oil allows use of the joint at ambient pressures of up to twelve bar.

NEMO® Z Double Seal Pivot Joint

For large flows and/or pressures (from bearing block size NM125SY upward), NEMO® industrial pumps are equipped with kinematically and precisely defined cartridge-type double seal pivot joints. These were designed with extremely high long-term stress, torques and axial loads in mind. The NEMO® Z Double Seal Pivot Joint is lubricated and sealed hermetically by means of two seals which are resistant to the lubricant and the pumped product. The double sealing ensures process stability.
